IC INFO. CHARACTER: kujou sara SERIES: genshin impact AGE: early 20s NOTABLE FEATURES: she's noticeably tall for a (fantasy) japanese woman, at about 5'10", and carries herself with a strict posture and even sterner expression. always has a red mask tied around her head unless otherwise noted. maintains a well kept and tidy appearance as a representative of the shogunate. golden eyes, short hair, toned af. though she looks mostly human, sara is a full-blooded tengu, and will ping as a youkai (monster) to anyone who can detect such things. she has two pairs of black feathery wings that aren't always visible, but that she can unfurl at will... or in situations involving strong emotions. characters are free to have noticed these at some point; she doesn't have them out all the time, but also doesn't attempt to outright hide them. (VERY) BRIEF PERSONALITY: the no-nonsense adopted daughter of the kujou clan, and the raiden shogun's #1 simp general. rarely smiles, and considered cold and standoffish by many, but kind at heart and with a hidden softer side. poster child of unhealthy devotion, and so incredibly repressed that it's actually pathetic. IC PERMISSIONS. PHYSICAL AFFECTION: affection in general is almost completely foreign to sara, so expect her to be hilariously awkward in any situation involving giving or receiving. the latter will be met with confusion and an attempt to remove herself from the situation. PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: she's a soldier; fighting is what she does. she will try not to rise to any obvious provocation unless left with no other choice, but she's incredibly skilled with both a bow and blade, as well as possessing an electro vision (electricity-based magic). no matter how tightly controlled she is now, she was once a prideful, rowdy child; you might catch glimpses of this if you push her enough. TELEPATHY: yes, though she obviously won't be impressed unless it's purely communicative. she's not hiding any grand secrets, just a lot of insecurity and self-doubt that she tries hard not to show. ROMANCE: sara is female-leaning bi, and her tastes are effectively 'beautiful, possibly unstable women she can devote herself to', 'powerful women who tease her', and 'idiot loudmouth men with good hearts'. canon-wise, i ship her with the raiden shogun (both ei and the puppet), yae, any unholy combination of the previous three, shinobu, ayaka, kokomi, and itto, though i'm open to shipping with other (18+) canonmates or crosscanon. she's a bicycle, don't judge me. i would prefer no ocs unless i know you! OTHER NOTES: as sara is never shown flying in-game, or using her wings instead of the standard glider, i tend to agree with the fandom interpretation that the injuries she received to her wings as a child (and alice's kitchen disaster as recounted in the teyvat travel guide... jfc sara) rendered her incapable of "true" flight. she can hover, or fly in short bursts (eg, to the top of a building), but not soar through the sky unimpeded. canon also seems to waffle on whether her wings are supposed to always be "out" or not-- sara herself comments on the space they take up, which would be odd if she could just... not. i headcanon that while she can (and does) tuck them away, both for space reasons and to better blend in with human society, this is actively uncomfortable for her. it's not something she notices much anymore after so many years of doing it, but it's yet another reason she can never fully relax around others. i am more than happy to au her into other canons, though i would prefer to avoid full humanization, even in more mundane settings, as her conflict between her nature and her assigned role is an intrinsic part of her character. i will love you forever if you let me explore the more bestial aspects of her tengu heritage.

OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: i'm good with whatever! sara's backstory has elements of (adoptive) parental neglect and abuse, though she doesn't see it that way, and will likely attempt to defend her father's treatment of her to some degree. she also has ptsd from killing fellow inazumans during the vision hunt decree, though again, she will deny this. feel free to opt out if you'd rather this not come up at all, whether in brackets or dialogue.
